Courtesy Visit to the Medium Security Custodian Centre, Tunga, Minna.

Today, the Ayenajayii Foundation for Education and Empowerment paid a courtesy visit to the Medium Security Custodian Centre, Tunga, Minna, to formally introduce our organization and explore avenues for collaboration.

We were warmly received by the Officer in Charge, CSC Abdulrahman Shagari, and his team, and engaged in a productive stakeholder meeting where we identified key areas of partnership aligned with our core focus areas: Education, Empowerment, and Sustainability.

This engagement reinforced a truth we hold close to our mission, that many young people do not end up in custody because of a single mistake, but often as a result of repeated exposure to risky choices and negative influences, including: substance abuse and drug trafficking, cultism and gang involvement, theft and armed robbery, cybercrime, violence, kidnapping, illegal weapons possession, human trafficking, sexual offences, and other vices that derail young lives and futures.

At Ayenajayii Foundation, we believe prevention is more powerful than correction. Young people can steer clear of these pitfalls by:

• Choosing their associations wisely
• Staying in school or acquiring a marketable skill
• Avoiding drugs and substance abuse
• Understanding and respecting the law
• Pursuing legitimate income opportunities
• Building strong moral values and self-discipline
• Engaging in sports, volunteering, and community service
• Seeking mentorship from parents, teachers, and community leaders

The choices young people make today shape the future they will inherit, one of opportunity, or one of consequence.

Through education, mentorship, skills acquisition, and positive community engagement, we can help redirect young lives toward purpose and productivity.
