Ongoing Initiatives

A closer look at the programs driving education, empowerment, and environmental change.

STEM Her Forward Scholarship

13 Current Scholars Goal: 50 by 2026

Through our STEM Her Forward scholarship initiative, 13 students from various tertiary institutions across Nigeria are currently receiving annual scholarships. This program supports aspiring students in pursuing their education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), helping to empower the next generation of innovators and leaders.

Building on this impact, we aim to expand the program and increase the number of scholarship beneficiaries to 50 by the end of 2026, extending opportunities to even more promising students.

Skill Up Women Initiative: Production for Profit

81 Women & Girls Trained

Through our Production for Profit program, 81 women and girls have been trained in the production of hair shampoo, hair conditioner, hair cream, and body cream. The initiative equips participants with practical, income-generating skills that can support entrepreneurship and improve their livelihoods.

As the program progresses, we plan to provide ongoing business mentorship, startup seed capital, and business development support to help participants establish and grow sustainable enterprises.

Plastics for School Initiative

Environment Education

The Plastics for School Initiative is a flagship environmental and educational intervention of Ayenajayii Foundation designed to address two critical challenges simultaneously: plastic pollution and the growing number of out-of-school children.

Plastic waste remains one of the most persistent environmental challenges due to its slow rate of degradation and the difficulties associated with its collection and proper management. At the same time, thousands of children are deprived of access to quality education because of financial constraints.

Through this initiative, Ayenajayii Foundation is transforming plastic waste into educational opportunities. We encourage corporate organizations, institutions, households, parents, and well-meaning individuals to donate or support the collection of recyclable plastic waste. The collected plastics are sorted, processed, and sold to licensed recycling companies, with all proceeds dedicated to sponsoring the education of disadvantaged and out-of-school children.

Beyond funding school enrollment, the initiative also supports the provision of essential learning materials, school uniforms, and other educational needs where possible, ensuring that beneficiaries not only return to school but also have the opportunity to thrive.

By participating in the Plastics for School Initiative, every plastic bottle, container, or recyclable item becomes an investment in a child's future and a cleaner, healthier environment.

Our Objectives
  • Reduce plastic pollution through responsible collection and recycling.
  • Increase access to quality education for disadvantaged and out-of-school children.
  • Promote environmental stewardship and a circular economy.
  • Encourage corporate social responsibility through environmental and educational partnerships.
  • Inspire communities to view waste as a valuable resource for sustainable development.

Together, we can turn plastic waste into hope, opportunity, and a brighter future — one child, one bottle, and one community at a time.

Green Ambassadors Club

Youth Leadership School-Based

The Green Ambassadors Club is a school-based environmental leadership initiative of Ayenajayii Foundation established to nurture a new generation of environmentally conscious leaders. Guided by the principle of "catching them young," the initiative seeks to instill a culture of environmental responsibility, sustainability, and community service among secondary school students.

The club provides students with practical knowledge and hands-on experiences in environmental conservation, climate action, waste management, recycling, tree planting, and sustainable living. Beyond environmental education, it also develops leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, empowering members to become positive change-makers within their schools and communities.

Through the Green Ambassadors Club, Ayenajayii Foundation will partner with schools to implement impactful developmental projects, including environmental sanitation campaigns, recycling programs, tree planting exercises, school beautification initiatives, awareness campaigns, and the provision of selected educational and environmental support facilities.

The initiative is designed to inspire students to become lifelong advocates for environmental protection while contributing meaningfully to the sustainable development of their schools and surrounding communities.

Objectives
  • Promote environmental awareness and sustainability among secondary school students.
  • Develop leadership, volunteerism, and civic responsibility in young people.
  • Encourage practical environmental actions such as recycling, waste segregation, tree planting, and school sanitation.
  • Foster innovation and environmental problem-solving through student-led projects.
  • Support schools with sustainable developmental initiatives that enhance the learning environment.
  • Build a network of young environmental ambassadors committed to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.

By empowering today's students, we are raising tomorrow's environmental leaders — young people who will champion sustainability, inspire their communities, and help build a greener, healthier, and more resilient future for all.
